1st Draft: Lady High School Sports

Image
This is my first draft of my Portfolio Project. I proudly present my first draft of Lady High School Sports.

Production 7- Finishing Up

Now it is Monday and I have to finish my magazine. The software is very hard to use and the littlest tasks take so much time. Without help I had to watch YouTube videos to try and figure everything out and did the best I possibly could. I had to finish putting in my photos and adjusting all the words to go around it. One of the hardest things was getting the pictures to where I wanted them to be without moving the text all around. This project was a lot harder than I expected and I had to try and get everything I needed to get done and finished within our 100 minute class period. I need to turn it in but Friday but did not have time in class today. This project was very long and tedious but I hope I can get a good grade for all my hard work and effort I put in.

Production 6- Change of Plan

I just found out that our topic is too small. We were going to do it on just Sarasota High school but now we have to make our topic more broad. This is going to throw the project off but hopefully we can change it and make correct adjustments to maintain a good grade and project. We are going to change it to High School Lady sports. Initially doing Lady Sailor sports, our magazine's topics will be on High School's women's sports.  I am still going to keep my feature article on my chosen athlete and lady Sailors basketball. With this topic we can make it more broad and meet the expectations for the project. In the content page we can add articles on past athletes and schools to fit the topic.

Production 5- Software

I have finished my feature article and I am proud of it. I got to a good point to where there is a lot of information and will fill up the pages. When i interviewed my chosen athlete, she told me her height, how she contributes to the team, what she has played in the past, and what she continues to do. I have also made notes on my content page and what should be on it. I want to put some articles on past athletes on my content page as if this were a real magazine. I think I have good information that will be interesting for my readers to read and know. I have taken my photos and am ready to put my magazine together I just don't know how. I am going to try and learn the software since no one knows how to do it so hopefully I can figure it out the best I can.

Production 4- Update on Progress

Going into the weekend, my goal is to have my feature article done and my photos together. I have taken some photos of my chosen athlete and now I need to look through them and make sure I have enough for each page and the quali ty and content Is good.  I also need to make sure I have the correct shots for  the  right placement of where they are supposed to go in my article and magazine.  My feature article is almost complete, and I need to add some finishing touches and editing. I interviewed my chosen athlete not all at one time but a little each day b eing that we are both very busy and I think I got some interesting facts and information to put in my feature article. I have not imported my images into  design,  but I hope to work with Mr. Zac harias on that next week so I can know how to use the software and not be confused.

Production 3- Athlete Choice and Preparation

For our next step in our  project,  we have chosen our athlete s. For my athlete of  choice,  I am choosing  Madison McDonald. I have  chosen  her because she is a  freshman  on varsity basketball. She is rather tall for a  freshman  and is a very  strong  asset to the team.  She  contributes  with her athleticism, height, work ethic, and game skill.  Madi also played freshman volleyball for the school.  With Madi as my chosen athlete I think it will be  an interesting  article.  Lanie’s athlete of choice is Haven Wyles . Haven is a friend of ours and a very athletic individual.  Ella is small, muscular, and very, very fast.  Ella has also done othe r  sports in the past such as dance and does track and cross country for the school.  With us being friends with our chosen athletes it will be even more fun because we know the people and can work ...

Production 2- Choosing the Athlete

Lanie and I are going to start choosing our athletes for our magazine. Since we are doing the sports we play, we have a personal connection with our teammates.  When you're on a team you  have to  know everyone and be friendly with everyone especially in basketball because  it is a team sport and if you don’t have team ch emistry  then you won’t do good .   With the knowledge and relationships with  all of  our teammates this will help us with our decision . We will choose someone who stands out and is spiking our interest so our readers will be interested too.  Although every teammate is unique, we want to choose someone who will be an interesting feature in our article and has special attributes that are unique  from the others. I will be choosing someone from my team and Lanie will be choosing someone from hers. We hope to have made our choices by the end of the week.
